Cooking can raise sell value when you already have ingredients and kitchen access. It is not automatically better than selling the ingredients.

There is no single best method. Early income often comes from requests, foraging, and fishing. Later income depends on unlocked skills, Mines access, and how much time you have.
Request board rewards and forageable items are usually available before the Mines or advanced cooking. Keep one museum copy before selling seasonal finds.
Not by default. Compare sell prices with ingredient cost and craft time. Cooking is more useful when you already cook for stamina or gifts.
Ores and ingots also feed tool upgrades, town projects, and the Engagement Ring. Sell extras after those tracked uses are covered.
